Hello! My name is Armeen Aziz. I possess a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland and am currently pursuing a MPH at Rutgers. I have previously conducted research at UMD in the neuroscience department on inhibitory control (behavioral neuroscience). With my background in neuroscience and current studies in public health, I'm passionate about exploring the intersection of these fields, particularly in addiction science and public health policy. My goal is to leverage neurobiological insights to develop evidence-based interventions for substance use disorders and improve community health outcomes related to addiction and mental health. I'm also interested in investigating the public health implications of neurodevelopmental disorders and the potential of neuroplasticity in brain injury recovery. By combining neuroscience with public health approaches, I aim to contribute to improved early detection methods, more accessible interventions, and innovative therapies for conditions that significantly impact population health and healthcare systems.
Please feel free to reach out to me at aa3426@sph.rutgers.edu if you feel I will be an asset to your research. I look forward to new opportunities in the lab.

Best,
Armeen Aziz

Hello,

My name is Vincent DiGioia-Laird. I am a recent graduate of the Rutgers School of Social Work MSW program. I currently work as a peer support specialist within the New Jersey State Prison system and volunteer with the REACH lab with Dr. Alex Bauer. Working within the prison system I realized that if we don’t change policy within the addiction field, we will never create lasting change. I am currently applying to Social Work PhD programs which includes the Rutgers PhD program. I am interested in working on alternatives to FDA approved Addiction Medications and people’s experiences with these alternatives. I am also very interested in Mental health and Addiction treatment qualitative data while discussing people experiences in these facilities and what limitation exist. I am also very interested in researching Funding within the Mental Health and Addiction industry and looking at the differences between large behavioral organization and smaller grassroot organizations. By combining my past finance experiences, lived experiences and educational experiences I hope to bring true accountability to a recovery industry that has manipulated and left many people out to fend for themselves. Please feel free to reach out to me at Vincentadigioia@gmail.com or Vdigioia@ubhc.rutgers.edu. I look forward to transitioning from my current career to exploring new opportunities to work on cutting edge addiction and treatment research studies. I have attached my current CV/Resume if any of my current qualifications fit project needs, I would love the opportunity to discuss further.
