My research focuses on understanding reactions to tobacco products and their marketing and communication to ultimately inform related public health policies and regulations. My studies use laboratory-based paradigms to evaluate the impact of tobacco and nicotine products and/or their marketing/communication on harm perceptions, attention, use behaviors, and biomarkers of exposure. Currently, we are conducting a randomized trial evaluating the harm reduction potential of cigarettes with charcoal filters, and an eye-tracking study of attention in retail environments.
