My primary research interests are rooted in prevention/intervention science, including translating evidence-based interventions for m-health delivery. Specifically, my work examines how adaptive intervention designs (e.g. factorial trial, SMART, and MRT) can be leveraged to optimize mHealth delivery of mindfulness-based and positive affect interventions prior to efficacy testing in a standard RCT. Currently, I am MPI on a project to adapt an app-based just-in-time adaptive intervention to reduce substance use craving among sexual minority men (SMM) living with HIV. I am also MPI on a pilot project in collaboration with MIT media lab to develop a virtual gaming tool to reduce physician stigma toward SMM patients with substance use disorders.
