Principal Investigator: Julia Chen-Sankey, Ph.D., M.P.P.
Website: https://sph.rutgers.edu/julia-c-chen-sankey
Dr. Chen-Sankey is a social and behavioral public health scientist and an assistant professor in the Department of Health Behavior, Society, and Policy at the Rutgers School of Public Health. She is also a core faculty member of the Rutgers Institute for Nicotine & Tobacco Studies. She is investigating the influence of e-cigarette and cannabis product marketing among young adults through various methodologies including content coding marketing materials, online survey experiments, in-person and remote eye-tracking experiments, and qualitative in-depth interviews.
Levels encouraged to apply: Undergraduate, Graduate

Principal Investigator: Rafiq Huda, Ph.D.
Website: hudalab.org
Dr. Huda is an assistant professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at the Rutgers School of Arts & Sciences in New Brunswick. esearch program leverages cutting-edge neuroscience technologies to deconstruct the reciprocal interactions between neural circuit function and alcohol-related behaviors in preclinical mouse models. Our current work focuses on how interneuron subtypes shape prefrontal cortical activity patterns relevant for binge alcohol drinking and how repeated exposure to alcohol modifies these circuits, ultimately leading to compulsive alcohol use.
The Huda lab is seeking postdoctoral fellows interested in assisting lab personnel with experiments, including histology, immunohistochemistry, and behavioral experiments.
To apply, please send: 1) a detailed CV; 2) a cover letter describing your previous research, future research goals, and interest in our lab; and 3) contact information for three references. Prior experience with one or more of following techniques is highly desirable: in-vivo or ex-vivo physiology techniques (two-photon microscopy, slice electrophysiology, extracellular recordings), mouse surgeries, mouse behavior, and coding in MATLAB and/or Python.
Levels encouraged to apply: Undergraduate, Graduate, Medical

Principal Investigator: Anna Konova, Ph.D.
Website: www.konovalab.com
The Addiction & Decision Neuroscience Laboratory at Rutgers University, directed by Dr. Anna Konova, studies motivational states, decision making, and addiction. We are affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry, the University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), and the Brain Health Institute (BHI) at Rutgers University – New Brunswick, as well as the Rutgers-Princeton Center for NeuroPsychiatry (CCNP) housed within the BHI. Current main research themes in the lab center on: 1) computational and neuroimaging studies of decision making and drug addiction; 2) the modulatory role of craving and other motivational states in these processes; and 3) studies in the general population and in people with addiction, depression, and other conditions on how reward value is constructed in the brain and how it shapes health behaviors.
The lab is looking for talented post-grads who hold a PhD, MD or MD/PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field. They are especially interested in candidates who are enthusiastic, curious, and have excellent analytical, programming, and communication skills. Experience in human brain imaging is a plus. Please contact Dr. Konova (anna.konova@rutgers.edu) if you are interested in doing a postdoc in the ADN lab.

Principal Investigator: Edward Yurkow
Website: https://research.rutgers.edu/cores/rumic
The Rutgers University Molecular Imaging Core (RUMIC), located within the vivarium of the RWJMS Research Tower (Busch Campus), provides imaging resources for the non-invasive evaluation of structural features and biological processes in living systems, disease models, ex vivo organs and preserved specimens. Physical objects (e.g., biomaterials, viscous fluids, ice crystals, assembled electronics, polymers, medical devices, etc.) can also be evaluated. Comprehensive imaging modalities for the basic and preclinical sciences include MRI, PET/CT, microCT, nanoCT, Optical/X-ray Imaging and High-Resolution Ultrasound/Echocardiography. Image reconstruction, animation, 3D displays and quantitative image analysis can be conducted at RUMIC workstations or via remote access to advanced VivoQuantTM software. The Core is located within an animal holding facility for serial imaging, anesthesia, surgery, animal treatment and veterinary care.
