Dr. Lister’s community-engaged addictions research targets solutions for rural and underserved populations by identifying treatment and policy recommendations, strategies to reduce barriers to care, and methods that promote health equity. He studies opioid use disorder, MOUD, and coordinated multimorbidity care. Having grown up in a rural, medically underserved, health professional shortage area guides Dr. Lister’s scholarship and intention to promote trust. He leads and collaborates on projects funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (e.g., SAMHSA, HRSA). Dr. Lister also serves as Co-Director and New Jersey Director of the Northeast & Caribbean Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Center.
