A PhD-prepared nurse clinician, Dr. Shrader’s work focuses on how social networks, social norms, and neighborhood environments influence substance use and HIV-related outcomes, particularly among racially, sexually and gender minoritized populations. Her scholarship is grounded in a commitment to health equity and examines multilevel determinants—neighborhood, network, and individual—that contribute to health outcomes. Her research prioritizes communities in the NYC MSA (including New Jersey), South Florida, the Southwest, and South Africa. Dr. Shrader’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences, AIDS and Behavior, and Drug and Alcohol Dependence.
