Many states have been moving toward the legalization of cannabis and cannabis products, but the public health implications of these policy changes have not been fully evaluated. An expert committee of the National Academies wrote a report to describe cannabis and cannabinoid availability in the U.S., assess regulatory frameworks for the cannabis industry using a health equity lens, and describe strengths and weaknesses of medical and non-medical surveillance systems. Additionally, it will outline recommendations to minimize societal harms and inform policy research over the next five years.

During this public release webinar, members of the committee will provide an overview of the report’s conclusions and recommendations and answer audience questions.
