GSAPP Webinar – Courage, Psychology, and Medicine for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment

$90This session has three segments: 1) brief overview of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), highlight on the role of Medicine for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) in recovery, and update the general practitioner on 2026 shifts in the opioid and overdose crises; 2) describe the role of best practices of a) Motivational Interviewing and b) harm reduction psychotherapy in the treatment of OUD and a case example of same; and 3) illustrate information relevant to treatment for loved ones of people with OUD including psychoeducation on a) the courage of recovering people, b) the harm of MOUD stigma, and c) the US Surgeon General recommended overdose reversal training. Audience participation is encouraged throughout the presentation and an exercise involving the case example will require audience participation. This session is aimed both at general practitioners who do not normally treat OUD as well as OUD treatment experts who are interested in a fresh take on the latest research and cutting-edge innovation.
