Comorbid Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Use in Veterans: Implementing Internet-Based Interventions Dr. Pedersen will be presenting his seminar as the 2023 Cooper Colloquium featured speaker

Dr. Pedersen is an associate professor of psychiatry and the behavioral sciences at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and an adjunct behavioral scientist at the RAND Corporation.

His work focuses on substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in veteran and young adult populations. He is interested in finding ways to target comorbid posttraumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders. His work has examined constructs of guilt, mindfulness, pain, sleep, and adverse experiences as they relate to PTSD, alcohol, and cannabis use. Dr. Pedersen is also interested in using internet-based methods to help reduce alcohol
