Terry K. Morgan, MD, PhD
Dr. Terry K. Morgan is a Professor of Pathology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He also serves as the Program Director of the Cytopathology Fellowship and Associate Director for the Center for Developmental Health at OHSU. Dr. Morgan’s research involves determining how uteroplacental vascular remodeling during pregnancy affects blood flow to the placenta leading to common maternal pregnancy complications and fetal programming of adult-onset disease in their progeny. His research also aims to develop and validate new methods to screen patient blood samples for cell- and size-specific extracellular vesicles (EVs) for diagnostics and sorting for further biomarker development.

Kjersti Aagaard, MD, PhD, FACOG
Dr. Kjersti Aagaard is the National Director of Perinatal Research and Medical Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine of Texas at HCA Healthcare. Dr. Aagaard serves as a Research Scientist at the Maternal Fetal Care Center in the Division of Fetal Medicine and Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Aagaard’s research focuses on the role of the microbiome in pregnancy and early developmental programming, and the impact of key exposures in pregnancy on fetal development and later in life. Her additional research interests include emerging obstetrical infectious diseases, preterm birth, diabetes and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, maternal smoking and environmental exposures, and detection and diagnosis of congenital and genetic anomalies.
