Dr. Fuehrlein will present the basic neurobiological pathway involved in the development of substance use disorders, explore diverse clinical manifestations observed in patients with substance use disorders, and examine the repercussions of having a substance use disorder. Additionally, Dr. Fuehrlein will outline the influence of stigma on individuals grappling with substance use disorders and their family members and how the use of language can be employed to mitigate stigma.
