Learn MoreRutgers UBHC – NJ Parole Board Partnership
As an outcome of the New Jersey Earn Your Way Out Act, signed in January 2020, law P.L. 2019, c. 364, an anticipated increase of returning citizens to parole supervision will be experienced through a new administrative parole release process. In partnership with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (RUBHC) these individuals will be offered peer recovery support by individuals in recovery who exemplify their own recovery successes. The program services will close the gap between SUD/OUD needs and the supervised offender, prompting the perception that successful recovery and community reintegration are achievable with the added assistance of peer recovery support. The program will address illicit opioid use, stimulants, or other substances of abuse in the NJ supervised offender population by providing wrap-around services to its clients with an emphasis on strengthening the relationship between each client and their respective Peer Health Navigator (PHN) and Parole Officer from the outset. The goal is to reduce recidivism of this cohort — adult parolees with a history of SUD/OUD. All referrals are made through the NJ Parole Board. For information: (732) 235-5000.
