SUMMARY:NeC-ROTAC Webinar - Advocacy\, Organizing\, and Communication Strategies to Advance Rural Addiction Policy
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will provide practical knowledge of how to communicate a rural health evidence-base to policymakers and engage in advocacy to promote policy goals. Rural health stakeholders are uniquely positioned to advocate on behalf of policy issues such as the need for increased access to care and healthcare investments within historically disadvantaged communities. While individuals often have a desire to engage in the advocacy or policymaking process\, they operate without a clear understanding of how to do so. This presentation will outline different roles in advocacy campaigns\, as well as functions of and actors within the advocacy ecosystem. In doing so\, this presentation will give participants a basic understanding of how each mechanism impacts the policymaking process\, and how to operate within the broader policymaking ecosystem as rural health policy advocates. \nTrainer: Matthew Braun\, MS\, BA\nRegistration: click here.
