DESCRIPTION:The Center for Youth Social Emotional Wellness (CYSEW) is hosting two virtual professional development events in October that are open to all Rutgers faculty and trainees. \nOctober 21st at 1:00 (EST) – Journal Editor Panel \nOctober 28th at 1:00 (EST) – U.S. Department of Education\, Institute of Education Sciences (IES) Program Officer Presentation \n\nThe journal editor panel will include: \nAndres De Los Reyes\, Ph.D. – Editor\, Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychology \nSteven Evans\, Ph.D. – Editor\, School Mental Health \nChris Linder\, Ph.D. – Editor\, Journal of Diversity in Higher Education \nThe editors will discuss current trends in their fields and science broadly\, methodological considerations that are increasingly important for publication\, and tips/strategies for putting together strong initial submissions. \n\nThe program officer presentation will be provided by: \nEmily Doolittle\, Ph.D. – Team Lead for Social and Behavioral Research at the IES National Center for Education Research \nDr. Doolittle will discuss trends in funding for social and behavioral research\, explain the IES grant submission process which includes specific topic areas and opportunities based on the study population of interest\, and provide tips and strategies for strong proposals. \nAttendees will have the opportunity to put questions in the chat to be read by a moderator.
