DESCRIPTION:Offered by LEGAL ONE in partnership with the New Jersey Prevention Network \nRegister Today: Registration Link \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented by: \n\nDavid Nash\, Esq.\, Director of Legal Education and National Outreach\nJohn Farinella\, Esq.\, Legal Counsel\, New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association and former school principal\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis FREE webinar focuses on the legal requirements and best practices related to how schools and law enforcement interact when it comes to addressing student use\, possession and distribution of marijuana and other substances\, as well as student vaping. \nParticipants will learn about major revisions to the Uniform Memorandum of Agreement between Education and Law Enforcement that must be followed in all school districts\, strategies for effective information sharing\, tips for avoiding the school-to-prison pipeline and addressing equity concerns\, and the key differences between the roles of law enforcement\, including school resource officers\, school security personnel\, and school administrators. \nThe session will also include a brief review of two comprehensive toolkits developed by the New Jersey Prevention Network\, in collaboration with LEGAL ONE\, to assist school districts in addressing student vaping and marijuana use.
