DESCRIPTION:Experts will share information about successful prevention\, treatment and recovery methods and programs that exist in New Jersey and nationally. \nRegistration: click here  \nSpeaker: Dr. Sharon Walsh\, MS\, PhD\nProfessor\, Behavioral Science\, Pharmacology\, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Psychiatry·University of Kentucky (UK) Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy \n\nSharon Walsh is professor of behavioral science\, pharmacology\, pharmaceutical sciences and psychiatry in the University of Kentucky Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy and director of the UK Center on Drug and Alcohol Research. She has been conducting clinical research on substance use disorder for nearly 30 years with a special emphasis on opioid use disorder and its treatment. Her research program has been continuously funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Walsh has served as an advisor and reviewer for numerous agencies\, including the National Institutes of Health\, the Food and Drug Administration\, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\, the Veterans Administration and the World Health Organization. She is the principal investigator of the $87 million grant UK received as part of the NIH’s HEALing Communities study. Walsh earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
